DT Rayburn signed

With DT Vonnie Holliday still not cleared to play after fracturing his right ankle, the team signed DT Sam Rayburn to provide some interior defensive line depth.

Rayburn (6'3", 303 lbs.) has not played football yet this season after being cut from San Fransisco's roster at the end of training camp. He is 26 years old and has four years of experience with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he was an undrafted college free agent from Tulsa. Rayburn has experience playing with both the three and five technique.

With Holliday out of action this week and DT Rodrique Wright hobbled by a sprained ankle, Rayburn may be forced into action rather quickly.

To make room on the roster for Rayburn, the team released S Lamont Thompson.
